The Don Cornelius Foundation Soul Train Golf Classic

PicCollage-5Hello Everyone, It’s Soul Train time!

On January 30 to February 6th I attended one of music’s greatest events, The Soul Train Cruise.  The “Hippest Trip at Sea” and spectacular voyage departed from Ft. Lauderdale and took us to the beautiful Grand Cayman Islands, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, CocoCay, Bahamas and Key West, Florida.

The Soul Train Cruise featured several legendary music icons from Smokey Robinson, The O’Jays, The Whispers, Billy Ocean, Howard Hewett, Atlantic Starr, Sheila E, Stephanie Mills, Denice Williams, Enchantment featuring Jobie Thomas, Comedian Bill Bellamy, MC Doug E. Fresh and Host Mr. Tony Cornelius. #Wow!

Seema Style Fun FactDon Cornelius was an American television show host and producer who was best known as the creator of the national dance and music show Soul Train.

On February 1, 2016 I was extremely honored to co-host The Don Cornelius Foundation Soul Train Golf Classic featuring Smokey Robinson and Tony Cornelius presented by Zacapa Rum.  The event took place in the beautiful and sunny Cayman Islands at the North Sound Golf Club.  The event benefited The Don Cornelius Foundation that is established to support programs that provide awareness and prevention for those contemplating suicide and to those survivors who have lost loved ones due to suicide; assisting those who are in need of healing.

Soul Train Fun Fact “Don Cornelius was best known for his catch phrase that he used to close the show: “… and you can bet your last money, it’s all gonna be a stone gas, honey! I’m Don Cornelius, and as always in parting, we wish you love, peace and soul!”

Following the scramble format round we had our closing ceremonies. We had featured “The Don Cornelius” cocktail specials by Zacapa Rum, First Place medals and #DFL Medals also known as “the most honest golfers”  we had closest to the pins and long drive medals and gifts presented by PING.  My most favorite award that I love to give it out is the Seema Style “Best Dressed” that went to Smokey Robinson for his fun plaid pants, he received a medal and something he has been wanting for a long time the MOTOWN 25 DVD Collection 😉

I am so thankful to have been a part of this experience.  It is truly one that I will never forget and on an exciting side note, I will be hosting the 2017 The Don Cornelius Foundation Soul Train Golf Classic!
