I recently played in the 2014 YMCA Celebrity Classic benefiting NBA Star’s The Travis Best Foundation in Greater Springfield.
The YMCA of Greater Springfield is an outstanding organization who’s mission is to serve the human needs in greater Springfield by providing programs that promote lifelong personal growth and the balanced development of spirit, mind and body for all. The goal and reach for this event was to raise money for the YMCA in their efforts to serve teens and at-risk youth in the Greater Springfield area.
The annual fundraising YMCA of Greater Springfield Celebrity Classic hosts their red carpet, auction and opening party at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame which is home to more than three hundred NBA inductees. Sponsors, partners and celebrities all had such a great time supporting the YMCA and Travis Best! There was lots of delicious food, wine and fun dance moves to kick off the event!
FUN FACT: Travis Best has played for the Pacers, the Chicago Bulls, the Miami Heat, the Dallas Mavericks and the New Jersey Nets! #NBASTAR
The next day was the golf tournament! I had so much fun with my group. We shared lots of stories and laughs throughout the day! That’s what it’s about. The event ended with a bowling event, where the YMCA kids came out to mingle and bowl with the sponsors and celebrities.

It was so great to be able to meet all the kids, learn about their backgrounds and what they have achieved through the YMCA. Each of them really touch your heart and are so inspiring in so many ways.
FUN FACT: The YMCA of Greater Springfield has estimated to have raised $30,000 to $40,000 over the entire weekend.
Thank you YMCA of Greater Springfield and The Travis Best Foundation for having me at your beautiful and inspiring event. Looking forward to coming out next year!
