I recently played in the Bader/Sharp Shootout at the beautiful Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert Arizona. Beth Bader and Alena Sharp are both world renowned LPGA players and great friends of mine!
“We both realize how important it is to be involved in charitable work. We are not only LPGA Tour players but we are also members of our communities and we want to give back and make a difference” – Alena and Beth
The event was held to raise money to benefit Pancreatic Cancer and Alzheimers. In 2004, Beth’s mother, Sue, passed away due to Pancreatic Cancer. Beth and her family have been raising money for Pancreatic Cancer research since that time. Pancreatic Cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer deaths. Alena has been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association since 2005. Alzheimer’s struck close to home when her grandmother was diagnosed with this degenerating disease in 2002.
Many LPGA girls attend Beth and Alena’s event to support a great cause. The event started with a beautiful evening with dinner catered by PF Changs and a social pairings party! The following day we all wore purple golf outfits to support the cause and enjoyed the beautiful day playing with our groups!
Thank you Beth & Alena for having me be apart of your amazing event! It was definitely a great success:)
