Hi Everyone,
My sister Nisha and I were honored to be invited to the prestigious Nick Buoniconti Great Sports Legends Dinner that took place at the extravagant Waldorf Astoria in NYC.
“The annual event benefits The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis and raises funds to support the cutting-edge spinal cord injury research done by researchers at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Since its inception in 1985, the Great Sports Legends Dinner has honored nearly 300 sports legends and honorees and has raised millions for The Miami Project’s spinal cord injury research programs.”
The Dinner opened with the National Anthem. The event was gracefully hosted by Bob Costas. Bob introduced the great sports legends and guests listened to several charming speeches from James Worthy, Dave Winfield, Nick Faldo, Terry Bradshaw, Shawn Johnson, Gary Stevens, Antron, Brown, Kenny Smith and Jim Kelly. After the speeches, we watched an amazing performance by the Jersey Boys.
After the Dinner, we mingled with guests and sponsors. I had the chance to meet Nick Faldo, Dave Winfield & Mrs. Winfield right after dinner. Such a treat to meet athletes that have paved the way for us athletes now! We attended the Dinner with our good friends Scott Knight, Tim Lister and Josh Gotthelf. While at the after-party I ran into Gossip Girl’s Matthew Settle and was talking Gossip Girl!!! 🙂 How fun right?
It was so great to be apart of the 28th Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner. We were happy to help a good cause and be around some great people. We are excited to go back again next year!
XOXO, Seema – The Golf Gossip Girl!
